 SERVANTS OF THE LORD'S VINEYARD

The Servants of the Lord's Vineyard, a Catholic Charismatic community, is inviting everyone to a Christian Life Series starting September 23, 2008, every Tuesday at 7:15PM at the 2nd Floor, St. John Bosco Parish Center, Arnaiz Ave. Makati City

 CONTEMPLATIVE OUTREACH PHILIPPINES

Contemplative Outreach Phils., a faith community whose goal is to teach centering prayer and lectio divina has opened a center at St. John Bosco Parish Center, Rm 211.  Centering prayer, also called "the prayer of silence" and lectio divina, "a prayerful reading of Scripture" are excellent ways of developing one's relationship with the Lord disposing us to greater intimacy and union with Him.

Thru retreats, workshops and "The Spiritual Journey", a psycho spiritual approach of Christian life, growth and transformation as taught by the Trappist monk, Abbott, Thomas Keating, Contemplative Outreach hopes to share with both parishioners and non-parishioners of St. John Bosco, the adventure of "living ordinary life with extraordinary love."

The first parish-based Introductory Workshop on Centering Prayer will be conducted on October 18 (Saturday), 2008 at the Roozen Hall.  For more information about Contemplative Outreach Phils, and its activities, please inquire at the Parish Office or call the COP Secretariat and center at telephone no. 750-02-31.

 KNIGHTS OF THE ALTAR RECRUITMENT

The Knights of the Altar (KOA) is recruiting boys and young men, ages 9 to 18 as altar servers.  For more information please contact Mark Hablado at 0922-2802949.

 REQUEST FOR SICK VISITATION

The St. John Bosco Parish, through its Ministry for the Sick, the Elderly and the Differently-Abled, conducts weekly visits to parishioners who are in need of special blessings.  If you know of any parishioner who, because of illness, age or special physical condition, would want to be visited by the Parish Priest and lay servants, you may give the name of the person, the address and contact numbers to the Parish Office or you may send the information to the e-mail address sjbinfo_min@yahoo.com.

WANTED: VOLUNTEER CATECHISTS 

The St. John Bosco Parish Evangelization Ministry is recruiting volunteer catechists.  Formation classes for catechists are being conducted every Wednesday at 7:00 to 8:00PM by Fr. Ting Miciano, SDB.  Catechism classes given to the children and the youth of the community are conducted every Sunday at 9:30 to 10:30AM.  Volunteer catechists must be Catholics willing to give their time to the sharing of our faith.  Interested individuals may sign up at the parish office from 8:00AM to 5:00PM during Saturdays.

THE PARISH OF ST. JOHN BOSCO WELCOMES THE NEW MEMBERS OF ITS SALESIAN COMMUNITY

Following is the obedience of the Salesian community assigned to St. John Bosco parish:

  • Fr. Richard Varela, SDB - Assistant Parish Priest & Economer who came from Mary Help of Christian Parish at Better Living Subdivision)

  • Fr. Ting Miciano, SDB - remains as the Assistant Parish Priest of St. John Bosco Parish & is in–charge of the Youth Centre as Director

  • Fr. Dave Buenaventura, SDB - Centre Director, PUGAD who prior to this was Chaplain of Filipino Migrants in Milan, Italy

  • Fr. Dennis Paez, SDB - Parish Family Counseling Ministry. Previous to this, Fr. Dennis was with Don Bosco Tabor House in Calamba

  • Bro. Mon Callo, SDB - In-Charge of Commission on Youth Ministry. Bro. Mon came from Don Bosco College in Canlubang before this current assignment
